A classic chypre spicy category for men, 1872's top notes contains galbanum, grapefruit, lime, bergamot, mandarin, classic petit grain, pineapple, peach and aromatic lavender combine with clary sage for a seamless feel to this perfume, remarkably long-lasting for a citrus scent.
With the middle notes of cyclamen, freesia, tagete oil and jasmine and the base notes of cedarwood, patchouli, olibanum, labdanum, amber and musk.
(Clary sage was considered by the Roman Empire to be a sacred herb and Emperor Nero is said to have dispersed this scent to focus and rejuvenate his troops before battle).
