The flacons with a cap shaped like figure of a man or a woman are hand-made and inspired by Renaissance epoch. Customers can choose flacons and fragrances independently. Le Rivage des Syrtes is a surrealistic fragrance by French writer Julien Gracq.

Top notes: orange, pineapple and galbanum from Iran

Middle notes: ylang ylang from the Comores, Indian tuberose, orange blossom absolute and Arabic incense

Base notes: amber, vanilla from Madagascar and musk

The perfume was created by Patricia de Nicolai in 2009.


A floral oriental Patricia de Nicolai has exceptionally agreed to create for Parfums MDCI, with complete freedom of olfactory choices and no restrictions on ingredients. Inspiration led her into two different directions. Her first gift is a poetic floral oriental, particularly elegant and refined thanks to the high proportion and superb quality of the natural essences she utilized. Sweet orange essence, pineapple and a touch of galbanum, are gradually joined by tuberose, ylang ylang, frankincense and orange flower absolute. Finally, as to illustrate the an idea of a long journey to distant shores, very fine musk are combined with rare and precious ambergris giving this sweet olfactory poem a unique character.
