Designer Phaedon has 6 perfumes in our fragrance base all launched in 2011. The nose who created Phaedon fragrances is Pierre Guillaume.
The label design and extremely elegant plain black bottles follow his usual paired-down "dead-classic" aesthetic. The opaque black glass bottles are designed after Etruscan style amphorae. The label is black and fire orange, with Classic Greek motif. The beautiful logo is of two Griffons facing each other, with Greek key borders.
PHAEDON is named after Plato's dialogue "Phaedo" (in Greek = Phaedon).
Phaedon was an imprisoned young man, bought by an Athenian slave trader. While he was serving a meal at his new master’s home, he answered the question of Socrates, who was the guest in the house. Socrates, dazzled by his spirit, bought him and made him his disciple.
